What we collect
Email — always. We use it to send your invite, let you sign in, and email your reports if you ask us to.
Name, handicap, dominant hand, home club, years playing— optional, all entered by you during onboarding or in Settings. Skip what you don't want to share.
Swing videos and the frames sampled from them— uploaded when you film a swing. Stored in Vercel Blob storage (US-East). Used to generate your reports. Frames are sent to Google's vision analysis API in transit; Google does not retain them under their default API terms.
Session cookie — `caddio_invite`, a 30-day opaque token. Used solely to keep you signed in. Not shared.
Advertising & analytics cookies (Meta Pixel)— when you visit Caddio we load Meta Platforms' (Facebook's) advertising pixel. It sets cookies (such as `_fbp`) and sends Meta the pages you view on Caddio along with your browser, device, and IP address. We use this to measure how our ads perform and to reach people like you on Meta's platforms. This is third-party tracking — the data is shared with Meta and governed by Meta's privacy policy. You can limit it through your Meta ad preferences or your browser's cookie controls.
Your choice— if you're in the EU, UK, EEA, or Switzerland we ask for your consent before loading the pixel, and it stays off unless you accept. Everywhere else it's on by default. Either way you can change your mind any time using Cookie settings in the footer.
What we do not collect— location data, contacts, photos outside what you upload, or social-media login tokens. Aside from the Meta advertising pixel described above, our only other analytics is Vercel's first-party Web Analytics, which is cookieless and IP-anonymized.
Where it lives
User records and metadata: Neon Postgres, US-East region.
Swing videos and report frames: Vercel Blob, US-East region.
Vision analysis transit: Google's vision API. Frames sent during a report run; Google's default API terms (here) state inputs and outputs are not used to train Google's models when sent via the paid API.
Email delivery: Resend (US). Used for invites, magic-link sign-in, and account notifications.
Payment processing (when we open billing): Stripe (US). We don't store full card numbers — Stripe holds those.
Advertising measurement: Meta Platforms (US). The Meta Pixel sends your Caddio page views and browser/device/IP data to Meta, as described under “What we collect.”
How we use it
To run your account. To generate your reports. To recommend drills. To let coaches you choose review your swings (when you use the "Send to a coach" flow).
Aggregate, anonymized stats may be computed (e.g., the “members online” count in the footer) but never tied to individuals in public surfaces.
We never sell or rentyour data. The one exception to third-party marketing sharing is the Meta advertising pixel described above, which shares your browsing activity on Caddio with Meta to measure and target our ads. Aside from that, we don't share your data with third parties for marketing.
How to delete
Settings → Privacy & vault → Download all my data — request a JSON export of everything we have about you. Sent to your email within ~2 minutes.
Settings → Danger zone → Close my account — permanently deletes your User row + every Swing + every Analysis + every Plan + every Session. Cascade-deletes within ~30 seconds. Currently irreversible. (We plan to add a 30-day grace period before paid plans launch.)
If those flows are temporarily unavailable, email us and we'll delete by hand within 7 business days.
Training-data opt-in
Settings → Privacy & vault → Use my swings to improve the model is off by default. When off, your swings are never used to train any model — neither our own future ones nor any third party's.
When you flip it on, you opt your future uploads into being used for model training. We will strip personally identifiable metadata (your name, email, exact timestamp) before any swing enters a training set.
Children
Caddio is intended for users 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
